"Better known to her nearest and dearest as multi-instrumentalist singer songwriter Chi Chi Ekweozor this four tracker, entitled 'You What?' is stuffed full of more ideas than a normal months box full of demo's, so many in fact that the constant avalanche of ideas, musical styles and production jiggery pokery threatens to overwhelm things.  African hi-life style jangling runs into scratching, Prince style vocals top Gomez style swamp-rock.  Dance beats, rock riffing and kraut-rocky synth washes sweep in and out of the mix and on 'Operation Anger Strike' Chi Chi creates a sound roughly akin to a head on collision between a Captain Beefheart instrumental and a junglist rave track (which can't be a bad thing).  All in however this is an obviously prodigiously talented young woman who just needs a little helping hand in refining ideas (at the very least she needs some creative input on her cover artwork which is bloody dismal), and perhaps some production guidance to remain focussed".
